Following a path in the park, I would take a picture of what was in front of me every fifty steps or so. Also, if the view directly above my head was interesting I would snap that also.

I also used a technique of taking circular images of things. This means I would either photograph something so that it stood in the left, right, top, and bottom of the frame in four (or fewer) different pictures, OR I would take a picture of whatever was behind it, allowing it to impede the view on the left/right side or top or bottom in four different pictures (or fewer).
